—HOW SHE HELPS

Care that meets you where you are

Dr. Schamerhorn brings a warm, real-world approach to evidence-informed care, helping women feel seen, supported, and back in control of their health. At Ivy, she combines advanced hormone care with a whole-person lens, guiding women through the complexities of shifting cycles, fatigue, brain fog, mood changes, and more. She is passionate about breaking down the stigma and confusion surrounding hormone health, and creating care plans that evolve with each patient's needs. Her work is grounded in science, built on trust, and shaped by her belief that women deserve better care at every stage of life.

Weight & Metabolism

Weight rarely comes down to willpower. Hormones, thyroid, blood sugar, stress, and sleep all get in the way, and Dr. Schamerhorn helps you clear what is working against you before asking your body to do more. From there she builds a plan around your body and your life. That can include medications like GLP-1s when they are the right fit, always alongside the foundations that keep you strong and well. Some women come to her after a recent change. Others have struggled for years. Either way, the aim is never just the number on the scale. It is the energy to feel good and show up for your life.

Hormones

From PMS and heavy periods to PCOS, perimenopause, and menopause, Dr. Schamerhorn understands how hormones shift through every stage and how differently the symptoms show up. She helps you make sense of your full picture and walk through your options, from lifestyle support to hormone therapy.

Energy

When you are tired no matter how much you sleep and your bloodwork came back normal, that does not mean nothing is wrong. Dr. Schamerhorn looks deeper than a standard panel at what your body actually needs to feel well, then helps you find what is really draining you, from nutrients and thyroid to blood sugar and a nervous system stuck in overdrive.

Low iron is one common culprit. You can have real symptoms long before you are ever anemic, which is why the actual number matters, not just whether your results came back normal. For women with heavy periods or a history of pregnancy, IV iron is often a great way to rebuild stores and feel like themselves again.

Stress

Ongoing stress does not stay in your head. It shows up in your sleep, your cycle, your energy, and your weight. Dr. Schamerhorn helps you understand what stress is doing in your body and what it actually needs, so you can keep going at the pace you want without it costing you your health.

— HER APPROACH

No single right path

The decision is always yours

Dr. Schamerhorn builds care around the woman in front of her. Two people with the same diagnosis can need very different things, so she takes time to understand your full picture, explains what is going on in plain language, and lays out your real options. Some want to start with lifestyle and nutrition. Others want to talk about hormone therapy or medication right away. Both are valid.

This is not care that ends once your symptoms settle. She works with women for the long term, through the different stages of life, with an eye on what is coming next, from bone and heart health to the changes menopause brings.

WHY SHE DOES THIS

Too many women have been made to feel they are doing it wrong

That a medication is something to be ashamed of, or that the answer is one more supplement, one more test, one more thing to try. Dr. Schamerhorn does not work that way. She is here to bring strong clinical knowledge, listen to you closely, and offer what is genuinely right for you, based on your values and your life, not anyone else's idea of how it should be done. You can stop feeling judged and stop chasing the next thing. This is a place where you are supported, where the care is honest, and where the only goal is helping you feel better.
